Photographs carry the weight, so the interface gets out of the way: a crossfading hero, real pages instead of client-side view switching, and a lightbox that opens where you left off. The city collection inverts to a dark surface, the one tonal change in the site. Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, no build step, no framework, no server.
